I thought I would start this journey out with a simple blog.
One blog to change the world! Aaahh, I laugh just thinking about it, not because I'm arrogant and narcissistic, not because I don't believe it, but because, in all possibility, it could be true.
I plan on sharing my vision and this journey over time, and believe me, I have a lot to share. But it's not about me, it's about everyone, and the very survival of society as a whole. *Eyes roll* I know, I know, it sounds preachy and apocalyptic, if not hyperbolic. Stay with me, I promise, I'll share slowly and I encourage participation so that I can clearly explain my thoughts and vision. We'll get to the tough stuff later, but on to explaining my headline....because if you're like me, you hate click-bait, especially the kind that doesn't deliver.
Why Re-Capitalism? Because Social Capitalism and Sustainable Capitalism were taken. No, seriously. The connotation ascribed to Social Capitalism is mission-related social impact. In some senses, this describes Re-Capitalism. Sustainable Capitalism relates to the use of sustainable materials and ingredients in goods. Again, this partly describes Re-Capitalism, but does not encapsulate it entirely.
Re-Capitalism approaches sustainability from an economic perspective and more in a definitive way, i.e. Dictionary.com defines sustainable as "pertaining to a system that maintains its own viability by using techniques that allow for continual reuse." It's social relationship relates to an inclusive form of capitalism, as opposed to the current exclusive nature of capitalism. I know that last statement will rub some folks the wrong way, so I'll make sure I end it with the a propos axiom applying to the current capitalistic society, "You've gotta have money to make money." Yeah, I plan to fix that.
